GN'R Widgets Hit Over Ten Million Views First Week

Tuesday • December 2,  2010   3:10:21 PM

FUHU Inc., leading the market in connecting people and content across their favorite destinations, has reported over ten million views in the first week of their Guns N’ Roses Spinlets widgets and urFooz cards of Axl Rose and Bumblefoot on MySpace, positioning the company as the dominant music widgets provider, facilitating extension of music brands and personal information across the social networking space.

Spinlets are new information-rich music widgets that let users place favorite artists’ videos, links, pictures, MP3s, ring-tones, news and more on their own favorite sites (www.spinlets.com). While urFooz are the newest in interactive portable profiles that, like a virtual baseball card, depict the user’s own avatar on one side and the user’s profile, favorite pictures, music, links and videos on the reverse (www.urfooz.com). urFooz gives users the ability to share information across their favorite social networks with a single virtual identity card.

Instant Hit

FUHU launched it's Guns N’ Roses (GNR) “Chinese Democracy” Spinlets widgets featuring its Best Buy partnership and including the bands’ MP3s, photos, videos and more. The GNR Spinlets widgets have averaged over 1.4 million views per day and have been placed by users over 2,500 times on new websites. FUHU’s urFooz card of Axl Rose has racked up over 1,750,000 views in its first week on www.myspace.com/gunsnroses.

“Widgets are transforming how music content is consumed, shared and distributed,” said FUHU CEO, Jim Mitchell. “We are excited to showcase our technology with this historic album release and we are proud to help use social networking to give fans access to more Guns N’ Roses content whenever they want it, wherever they want it. Our widgets come backed by powerful analytics which have allowed us to track their adoption to every corner of the world.”

FUHU is the leader in music widgets with a music catalog of more than 300 leading artists who have partnered with Spinlets and urFooz to exploit the value of extending their audiences to the social network widget landscape.

Well done, boys.

He would say that wouldn't he..its his company.

Can we have some news a bit more exciting?...like where is Axl Rose, and are the rumours true that he's in secret talks with former members...

Why can't we sell that many records? Was it a mistake to stream the record for so long?

I know this is off topic from the thread but, I thought I would just mention , on the Howard Stern show yesterday (Monday) that he played little snips of CD, Shacklers, Better, TWAT, Catcher in the rye and Prostitute.

He mentioned that he was a big gnr fan, but then started to bust Axl's balls about how it took 15 yeas and that it cost 30 million to make, He obviously meant to say 13 million.

BUT, after playing the snips he really liked it and said that Axl rocks. Anyone who knows Artie on the show, just loved it!!...He liked it the most, and Robin........well she was just her loud mouth self....she just complained the hole time...put both the song, and Axl down...

Oh, just remembered, that after Artie listen to some of the songs, he said CD make everything on the radio right now sound like shit..lol

There you go, a Howard Stern review for ya.

not really "honest hank"...the album stomps total balls, and is some of the coolest rock music to come out in the last decade.

BTW:

chinese democracy australian sales:

20,790 ALBUMS SOLD.....#3 on the chart.

I just saw a news article that suggests that CD might actually come in 4th place in the U.S. behind Taylor Swift at #2 and Beyonce at #3. Apparently GnR only sold 254,341 copies in its first week. That is less than what Contraband sold in its first week, but not by much. Kanye sold 443,559

According to the article, there is a difference of 3,000 cds sold between 2nd place and 4th.

I'm stunned at how poorly this record has sold up until now. So much for a GRAND COMEBACK!

Brandon, its very disapointing, but I dont think its all that surprising to many.

I was telling me earlier. I was in Best Buy today, when I was checking out I saw a little display of Chi Dem sittiing there. I asked the girl if she had been selling many of the Guns new CD? She said yes, but I dont know what it is though! She didnt say I dont know who they are, but what it is. She was somewhere in the 18 to 20 age group. There are a bunch just like her out in the real world.

Thats the problem when you have been a complete shut in for the past 15 years or so.

Where's Axl?? They say he is missing??

12/3/2008 | 7:18:12 AM by Brandon

I figured in the mid 300 range would be good. Guess I was over estimating a bit.

Look i like the new cd. Sometimes i can't believe i realy have it. I thought it would never hit the stores. But lets face it Axl doesn't care about the fans. He's made no effort to promote the cd. There are those of us who have kept up on things over the years but for most guns have long been over. So it shouldn't surprize anyone that the sales are not all that great. Now if Axl would come out from under the bed and promote this thing you could see sales go up. I'v heard this before and it holds true for me sometimes its hard to be a gnr fan.

BP can u ask Axl for us to come on here and explain why a multi millionaire would want to do what ever he wants?????

12/3/2008 | 8:46:07 AM by Joe the Plummer

Is Axl Alive??

12/3/2008 | 9:09:40 AM by DTJ

After all that time of wanting the drumming to sound like David Grohl it just didn't come out that way..Why didn't Axl just have butch vig produce this album..Neverminds production quality actually sounds as good as this despite the fact that it came out in 1991..Very weird..But I've always thought Neverminds production value sounded just incredible

For those people who don't feel that Axl appreciates his fans, this little Fooz Card tells a different story.

I made my own because I felt it would be good to help me promotes my own work since I'm a graphic artist and building in Second Life. Thus, now I'm familar with how they are put together.

This man who so many feel doesn't care about his fans, chose to include "unofficial" fan sites - THIS ONE INCLUDED in the links on his card. He didn't have to do that. He could have just instructed whoever worked on it to have official links.

That is his way of showing appreciation.
