Axl Rose, the lead singer for Guns N' Roses, said today by way of Twitter that he hopes to be back in Costa Rica as soon as possible to make up for the cancelled concert on Friday.

Slash on Chinese Demoracy: "The Perfect Axl Record"

Sunday • April 4,  2010   9:14:52 AM   (CEST)

Considering the train wreck Axl Rose has become, it’s hard to believe that Slash was in a band with him for even a minute. Slash’s mellow demeanor is nearly equal in degree to Axl’s level of personal turbulence. And yet Slash, who created some of the greatest guitar riffs and solos of the rock era (“November Rain,” “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” etc.), struck lightning not once, but twice, in the wacked-out vocalist department by creating Velvet Revolver with singer Scott Weiland. The poster child for Ray Bans and top hats spoke to The New York Post.

NY Post: When Axl finally released “Chinese Democracy” in 2008, What did you think?

Slash: "It was the perfect Axl record — exactly what I would have expected from the final years of us working together, and seeing where he was headed musically. It’s very heavy; sort of a dark, depressing record. He’s f- - - ing phenomenal."

Review: GN'R Live in Chile

Thursday • April 1,  2010   8:14:23 PM   (CEST)

A nice review of the Guns N' Roses show in Chile earlier last month by Johanna Watson.

17 years ago, I was 12 years old.

17 years ago, I went to my first concert: Guns n’ Roses

…last night, I relived my history and understood the root of my essence. I was able to listen to the songs once again and see the person who had marked the beginning of my musical taste for Rock. I have once again met with W. Axl Rose.

Even now, early in the morning, it hasn’t hit me yet that I was that close. I was close enough to smell him, define the color of his eyes, see the skin of his perfectly shaved face, and on his arms, the tattoos that I once drew in my school notebooks during my childhood.

But the image were real: my first rock hero would appear every second in front of me, singing the way he would always do and repeating those gestures on stage that many had recognized and were profoundly grateful for.
