Happy Birthday, Slash!
We’d like to send our happiest birthday wishes to Slash, who has a birthday today, July 23. The Chapeaued Shredder turns 45 today (looking good, man!).
The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, once and future Velvet Revolver member and current solo artist has had a busy year so far. In March, Slash released his first-ever solo album – titled, simply, Slash – on which he collaborated with many of his GN’R pals (Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler) as well as some of the best-known voices in rock (Ozzy Osbourne, Kid Rock, Iggy Pop). Since releasing the record he’s been on a world tour with his solo band, which features vocalist Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge.
Earlier this year, Slash and Gibson Guitar partnered up to release the Slash Appetite Les Paul and the Slash Appetite for Destruction Les Paul Custom. The axes are both based on the instrument that Slash used to record landmark tracks such as “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Paradise City” on Guns N’ Roses’ 1987 album, Appetite for Destruction.

GN'R Singer Axl Rose Snapped Chilling Out Backstage
It is a very, very rare thing to see Axl Rose chilling out, so when this photo arrived in our inbox this morning we thought 'what a classic!'.
The people over at Barons Brewing Co. sent us this pic of rock's most notoriously grumpy man actually relaxing rather than wanting to throttle someone (especially the photographer who took this snap!)
Maybe it's the beer, which in this case is a bottle of Lucky, one of Barons' many beers. And how about the cigar? All class.

Guns N' Roses Confirmed for Rock 'N Rev Festival
Following a split over the weekend with Glencoe Capt Resort, the Rock ‘N Rev Festival has found a new home at Monkey Rock USA and will bring Guns ‘N Roses and Daughtry with it, said Monkey Rock chief operating officer Chris Edwards.
“There are not a lot of places capable of hosting an event and lineup like this,” Edwards said. “We offered the option to solve a problem and they sent their operations people to survey the area -- all of it happened within 48 hours.”

Macy Gray Talks Axl Rose, AutoTune, Her New Album & More
You won't hear any Auto-Tune on Macy Gray's new album, 'The Sellout.' During a recent video interview with PopEater in our LA offices, the singer-songwriter told us she's fine with her trademark flat vocals. "Well, I'm generally flat. As much as I've worked on it, I just sing flat a lot. Instead of being all upset about it, I like my flatness a little bit," she says. "And some people I actually think I'm doing it on purpose. Some people think it's style, so that's pretty cool."
And who are the other vocalists she looks to for honesty? "Well I remember I heard Axl Rose and he was just so raw. The great thing about his voice was that he was really technically right most of the time and he just had this amazing emotion," she says.

New Adler's Appetite Single Available With Biography Purchase
Fans can get "Alive" the brand new single from Adler's Appetite — the band led by former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler — for a limited time when they buy a copy of Adler's tell-all autobiography, "My Appetite for Destruction: Sex, and Drugs, and Guns N' Roses", before October 27, 2010.
For more information, go to this location.
Guns N' Roses is one of the undisputed greatest rock bands of all time. They single-handedly put an end to the glam rock hair band craze of the '80s by re-establishing the true blues roots of rock and roll. Steven Adler is Guns N' Roses' infamous original drummer and co-founder. But Steven's self-destructive obsession with drug use led to Axl Rose firing him from the band in 1990.
In "My Appetite for Destruction", Adler tells all, fearlessly addressing his struggles with heroin and crack addiction; his financial ruin after being kicked out of GN'R; his shattered marriage; and the severe health problems that nearly claimed his life on several occasions.

Frank Ferrer Guesting On New Sebastian Bach Demo
Frank Ferrer of Guns N' Roses has recorded a guest appearance on a demo recording for the forthcoming solo album from former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach. In a July 15 post on his Facebook page, Bach writes, "My good buddy and drummer extraordinaire Frank Ferrer from Guns N' Roses has been here since 12 noon learning our new tune, jamming it with us, and we just recorded the tune! Fast, chugging, heavy, melodic, mean and cool this track is!
"Frank is so kind and cool to spend his time with us creating new music.
"We are having fun in the studio and I am so lucky to jam with these cats!"

Guns N' Roses Uploader Laughs Last
The convicted Guns N’ Roses uploader, Kevin Cogill, isn’t the anti-piracy pitchman the Recording Industry Association of America was hoping for.
A year ago Wednesday, the 29-year-old Los Angeles man was sentenced to two months’ home confinement and a year of probation for uploading nine unreleased tracks of Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy to his music site. Federal prosecutors initially sought six months of prison, but Cogill got no time after agreeing to do an RIAA public service announcement that would scare future file sharers straight.
But nobody has made him perform the PSA. As of Wednesday, and he’s no longer under the court’s jurisdiction. So the deal is no longer legally binding.
“I knew as soon as this went down, nobody would give a shit about me doing a PSA,” Cogill said in a recent telephone interview.

Guns N' Roses will make its second trip to Australia since 1993 when it performs a one-off gig on Saturday, December 4, at ANZ Stadium, following the weekend's first event around the Olympic Park circuit.
"To mix Guns with this massive Sydney event will be a blast," Rose was quoted as saying in the original press release.

Bumblefoot on Touring With Guns N' Roses
DailyMusicGuide recently conducted an interview with Guns N' Roses
DailyMusicGuide: First and foremost, how has the current Guns N' Roses touring been going? You've been on quite a road trip in the past few months!
Thal: It's been good, man. Good to be out there, and doin' it better than before. We hit Asia, Canada, acoustic shows in New York City, all around South and Central America, now just getting back from northern Europe and Russia... Good stuff! And in between I'm just bustin' ass in the studio, bangin' out guitar tracks and taking care of biz that's been on the "to-do" list for years now. It's always a race against the clock in between legs of the tour, trying to catch up on everything and get as much done as possible before hittin' the road again. I squeeze so much in off the road, by the time I get to the first hotel room on a tour I usually sleep for a good 20 hours.
